Meghan Holman is a senior music education major at Temple University. She has studied viola and violin for 12 years, playing various styles of music. Meghan has performed in musical theater, opera, jazz bands, symphony orchestras, and chamber ensembles. This includes debuting different pieces, like the Graham Fitkin recorder concerto at the Kimmel Center and Bill Cunliffe's jazz piece "rainforests" with the Temple University Jazz Band.
Meghan has performed in master classes with the Escher Quartet, Daedalus Quartet, Formosa Quartet, and the Aizuri Quartet. She is also worked with members of the Attaca Qaurtet at Techne Music Festival. She has also served principal violist for the Temple University Opera and performs in many symphonic and chamber performances per year.
Meghan has been teaching for 4 years and teaches private students and orchestral classes. She has taught at Interlochen Arts Camp, Blue Mountain Festival, Play on Philly, and Philly String Project. She has taught music to students of all ages and skill levels, and has taught a vast range of repertoire.
Meghan teaches violin and viola with the purpose of fostering a love for music. Her top priority is making music fun while incorporating musical skills. She focuses on musicianship, technique, music theory, and note reading. Meghan believes in incorporating students' musical interests while learning technique, and uses classical technique to approach many styles of music.
