Emma Hammond is an imaginative performer and educator based in the South Jersey/Philadelphia area. In 2021, Emma earned her Master’s degree in flute performance at the University of Maryland in College Park, MD, where she studied with Sarah Frisof, Aaron Goldman, and Leah Arsenault Barrick.

Emma is a North Carolina native, and she graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Music in flute performance in 2019. Her past teachers include Nancy Schneeloch-Bingham, Andrea Kuypers, and Lissie Shanahan.

In February 2019, she performed Charles Griffes' Poem for flute and orchestra with the Appalachian Symphony Orchestra after being named a winner of the Hayes School of Music Concerto-Aria Competition. She has played in masterclasses for flutists Jasmine Choi, Martha Long, Mimi Tachouet, Bonita Boyd, Emily Skala, Göran Marcusson, Stephen Preston, Bradley Garner, Erika Boysen, and Anne Laney. She also regularly performs with the Johnson City Symphony in Tennessee.

Emma loves working with students of all ages to help them discover a strong sense of self through flute playing. She is passionate about incorporating body mapping in lessons to set up students to be comfortable, confident, and artistic performers.
