My name is Denise and I have been teaching piano at the New Jersey School of Music for twenty years.

It is my passion to help people of all ages realize their piano dreams, whether they are interested in classical, jazz, blues, popular or vocal accompaniment.

I can teach students to read music or play by ear. Every student is different, and we develop a program together that works. I emphasize good technique, musical interpretation, and keyboard harmony to enhance the learning process.

I also have a lot of experience teaching students with special needs and vision problems.

Every fall my students perform in themed recitals. Past themes have been Halloween, original compositions, movie music, and duet recitals, just to name a few. Every summer we perform a pop concert at one of Medford’s Food Truck nights. In the spring students choose any style of music and perform at least two pieces.

My adult students gather a few times a year for small recitals with refreshments.

As well as composing and arranging, I love performing classical, 4part hymnody, jazz, blues, rock, pop and accompanying choirs and soloists as a church music director.
