John Reem Trombone Teacher and Low Brass Teacher

John Reem | Trombone and Low Brass Teacher | NJ School of Music - Medford, NJ 08055

John Reem has led a varied, successful career in music. He earned his Bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University, a Master's degree from Indiana University, and Post-Master's work at the Chicago College of Performing Arts. Along the way, John had the opportunity to perform with the Knox-Galesburg Symphony Orchestra (Assistant/Utility Horn) and the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic (Associate Principal/3rd Horn).

After ending his studies in Chicago, John performed as Principal Horn for the Sinaloa Symphony Arts Orchestra, based out of Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico. While in Mexico, he had the opportunity to perform a wide variety of symphonic and popular music works, in addition to chamber music with his orchestra brass quintet, woodwind quintet, wind ensemble, and chamber orchestra, all across the country.

While with the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, John and the rest of the horn section were featured as soloists performing Robert Schumann's Konzertstuck for Four Horns and Orchestra. John also had the opportunity to perform twice as soloist with the Western Illinois University Orchestra, and was a finalist for the prestigious Indiana University Concerto Competition.

John has had the opportunity to perform and study with the members of the world-renowned brass section of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and his musical philosophy is based on their sound concept of "Song and Wind".

John has been teaching music in the New Jersey public school system for the past six years, currently in the Mount Laurel district. In the school environment, John has a lot of experience teaching all of the primary band and orchestral instruments. He has also been teaching privately for the past decade, specializing in brass instruction, primarily French horn, Baritone/Euphonium, Tuba, and Trombone. John's students have earned positions in the All South Jersey Bands and have gone on to study music in college.

Trombone lessons and low brass lessons with John are available Monday and Wednesday.
